Compare before investing

A pet tier-list framework, without invented ranks

A useful pet comparison starts with your activity and the current skill tooltip. The checked public guides do not supply a controlled, species-by-species dataset that can justify an S/A/B ranking.

The dimensions that can change your choice

The Pets & Mounts guide, checked on October 28, 2026, describes species-dependent bonuses, feeding and evolution. It also says hunger can disable bonuses and that feeding restores them without erasing evolution. These are single-source wiki claims: verify the current tooltip and hunger state in your client before spending resources.

DimensionWhat to inspectWhy it matters
Activity fitSolo farming, a specific boss, party support, PvP or collection.A benefit that solves one activity may do little in another.
Actual skill effectStat affected, activation condition, duration and restrictions in the current tooltip.A rarity badge does not establish useful uptime or compatibility with your build.
Feeding sustainabilityWhether you can keep the pet fed during your normal sessions. The wiki's hunger warning makes practical upkeep relevant to a comparison.
Evolution investmentDisplayed requirements and resources already owned.Compare the achievable state, not a hypothetical fully evolved pet against a new one.
Combat versus convenienceWhether the advertised effect is combat, collection or travel utility.Convenience is valuable, but it is not a measured damage increase.

Make a shortlist for your current goal

  • For a combat obstacle: identify whether damage, survival or support is the actual bottleneck, then inspect candidate tooltips for that need.
  • For routine farming: compare sustained usefulness and upkeep over a normal session, not just a short burst.
  • For convenience or collecting: judge the stated utility directly rather than borrowing a combat rank.
  • For limited resources: compare pets at investment levels you can actually maintain. Avoid chasing an unverified best-in-slot label.

These are decision rules, not claims that every pet supplies those functions. No species-specific damage coefficients, proc rates, feeding prices or mode restrictions are supplied here because the checked sources do not establish a reliable comparative sheet. Read those values from the candidate's live details rather than filling them with guesses.

Run a fair comparison yourself

  1. Record the candidate's name, tooltip, level, evolution and feeding state.
  2. Keep your character build, equipment, target and encounter conditions unchanged as far as possible.
  3. Compare the same activity at comparable pet investment. Record completion time, survival or the utility you actually care about.
  4. Repeat under the same conditions; do not present one favorable activation as an average.
  5. Keep the result scoped to your region, client state and test conditions. A farming observation does not establish a PvP ranking.

This is a proposed test method. No test results, global meta placements or player-performance measurements are claimed by this page. If the client does not expose a relevant value, mark it unknown instead of assigning a score.

Capture access is not combat strength

The same wiki's World Catch guide, which displays a July 29, 2026 update, describes an event sequence: follow the notification and pet map icon, feed until the indicated capture state, attempt the catch interaction, then claim a successful result. It distinguishes that event from ordinary acquisition routes and does not make success automatic.

Check whether the event is active in your client before following those steps. This page does not adopt a daily attempt count, pity threshold, guaranteed rarity, current roster or event timetable from that guide. Being obtainable through World Catch, a banner or another route does not by itself prove a pet is strongest for your activity. Both linked guides are from the same wiki, not independent confirmations.

Questions people actually search

Which pet is S-tier?

This page does not assign species ranks. A defensible ranking needs current species skills, comparable investment, a defined mode and repeatable evidence; the checked guides do not provide that comparative dataset.

Is an SSR automatically better than another pet?

Rarity alone is not evidence of better performance for your goal. Check the actual skill, its conditions, feeding state and achievable evolution before comparing.

Are hungry pets permanently lost?

The reviewed Pets & Mounts wiki says hunger disables bonuses rather than deleting the pet, and evolution is retained. This is a single-source claim; check the current client feeding panel.

Are mounts included in the same ranking?

No. Compare a mount's stated travel or other function separately; do not assume a shared best-pet combat ranking from a guide that discusses both systems.
